Creative Nature Playschool, referred to as CNP, is a year round, completely outdoor, nature based recreational preschool program open to potty trained children to 6. At CNP we look beyond the ABC’s and 123's by instilling a lifelong love for play, learning, and our natural environment. Unlike other programs that include hours in front of the tv and little to no time outside, CNP strives for the opposite as an ALL OUTDOOR program! As Sacramento's original nature based program, CNP encourages children to explore their natural surroundings with all their senses and we don't mind getting DIRTY; after all children have their whole lives to sit behind a desk!

Creative Nature Playschool sits on 1/3 of an acre and is an award winning program; one of the very few nature based programs in the Sacramento area. CNP is also 1 of only 36 Nationally Certified Nature Explore Classrooms in the state of California and 1 of only 66 certified Outdoor Classroom Project Demonstration sites in California; the first OCP Demo site in Northern CA. CNP's outdoor classroom is also certified as a Butterfly Garden through the North American Butterfly Association. In addition to teaching environmental education, coupled with CNP developed preschool curriculum, CNP has the highest standards for your highest priority including an Eco-Healthy Certification (CNP only uses plant-based cleaners and zero pesticides within and outside our facilities), we also only serve ORGANIC & NON-GMO snacks and meals (included in tuition), and our communication is superb; offering daily report emails, daily posted photos, check-in texts, private Shutterfly site (updated daily), and monthly newsletters.

CNP also understands the needs of Parent/Guardian(s) and offer a low teacher to student ratio of 1 to 6, much lower than center based and other in-home programs. Parent/Guardian(s) can also pick their own schedule (Monday through Friday) with the CNP preschool program running from 8:30am-1pm. CNP accepts ONLY 12 Playschoolers per day. A Playschooler's acceptance is based on the family interviews and an application. We are conveniently located a 1/4 mile from Pershing Elementary and a 1/2 mile between Hazel Ave. and Greenback Ave. in Orangevale, CA.
